Stephen specialises in conducting commercial, cross-over and culturally diverse orchestral programmes and projects. His conducting style has “great precision” (The Guardian) and he easily develops a warm rapport with an orchestra.

Stephen has conducted many international orchestras in concert including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Grant Park Orchestra (Chicago), the Metropole Orchestra (Amsterdam) the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonia, The Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestra de la Toscana (Florence).

In the UK, he has conducted most of the top UK orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Northern Sinfonia, Britten Sinfonia, English Chamber Orchestra and the BBC Concert Orchestra. Stephen also conducted the Il Divo Christmas Tour in London, Paris, Toronto and 5 shows across the United States including guest soloists Kristen Chenoweth and Vanessa Mae.

He has also conducted studio and TV performances for Bob Geldof, Paul Potts and Hayley Westenra.

During his long working relationship with Nitin Sawhney, he has conducted many ground breaking and exciting projects and films including Human PlanetCirque du Soleil and Midnight’s Children as well as PlayStation games Heavenly Sword and Enslaved.
